Q: Do you take song requests during the event?
A: Yes, taking song requests during an event is a great way to engage with the crowd and make the experience more personalized, but it’s important to do so in a way that aligns with the HOST’s expectations and event goals. It’s Only Entertainment LLC is here to provide a service to the main customer which is the host. We will adhere to whatever guidelines that person establishes. Here is what that process looks like!
1. Check with the Host in Advance
Before we start accepting song requests from the crowd, we will talk to the event host or organizer, and ask them if they’re comfortable with taking song requests during the event. Clarification of guidelines such as particular preferences or restrictions (e.g., music style, certain songs to avoid). This way, we can ensure everyone is on the same page.
2. Explain The QR Code Process to the Host
We will let the host know how you plan to handle the song requests. Since we’re using a QR code to join a group, explain to them how the system works and how it will allow people to send in their song requests in real-time. We are transparent about how it won’t disrupt the flow of the event, and that we’ll be in control of filtering and choosing the best songs.
3. Offer an Option to Limit Requests
If the host prefers a more controlled atmosphere or wants to avoid too many distractions, we can suggest limiting requests to a specific time frame, like during breaks or quieter moments.
4. Create Boundaries for the Requests
We will let the host know that while we’re accepting requests, we’ll ensure that the songs align with the event’s tone and energy. We will set some boundaries around genre, volume, or any special requests they may want to avoid (e.g., explicit lyrics, inappropriate songs). We aim to give the host confidence that the event will still have a consistent vibe.
5. We are Open for Adjustments: The Customer is Always Right
Once we’ve explained the process and gotten the go-ahead, we will let the host know that we’re open to adjusting if anything at any time. They might have feedback during the event, and showing flexibility will ensure event success.
Example:
- The event started and people are ready to start line dancing. Line dancing was initially an hour into the set. We can always change the setlist on the fly and adjust accordingly. We will start playing line dances immediately to engage the crowd and continue from there. There may be times where the vibe changes from a dance-off to a slow dance or old school R&B vibe. We can ride the waves and go with the flow. The DJ is in the driver’s seat with the HOST being the Drivers Education instructor.
6. Make the QR Code Prominent
We will ensure the QR code is visible and easy for guests to scan, but also respectful of the environment. We don’t want it to distract from the event or become a focus. Everything will be cleared with the HOST! Enjoy an event with a Live DJ with the ability to make song requests from your seat, the bar, or your seat without having to walk to the DJ Booth!
